· Mentoring and coaching engineers and technical staff to foster professional growth and development
· Leading investigations into machine and automation failures or anomalies and devising corrective actions to prevent recurrence
· Helping deliver new projects, installations and moving machinery
· Ordering of Parts and ensuring we are sticking to the Budget
· Keeping all paperwork up to date such as 5s and checks to ensure we are always audit-ready. Keeping machine records and manuals up to date and correct
· Hands-on approach helping with day-to-day tasks and ensuring engineers are being used effectively and efficiently
· Liaising with OEM to rectify issues that are taking too long or are priority breakdowns

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE
· Mechanical engineering expertise — strong understanding of equipment, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and mechanical assemblies.
· Electrical competence — ability to work with motors, sensors, control panels, wiring, and fault‑finding on electrical systems.
· Hydraulics & pneumatics — skilled in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic circuits, valves, cylinders, pneumatic systems, and compressed air equipment.
· Root cause analysis — skilled in structured problem‑solving techniques (5 Whys, Ishikawa, FMEA) to eliminate recurring faults
· Equipment installation & commissioning — experience overseeing new machinery installs, upgrades, and plant modifications.
· Technical documentation — ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, manuals, and produce accurate maintenance records.
· Team leadership — proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop maintenance engineers and technicians.
· Work planning & prioritisation — skilled in allocating tasks, managing workloads, and coordinating maintenance activities around production needs.
· Budget & spare parts management — experience controlling maintenance spend, managing inventory, and ensuring critical spares availability.
· Health, safety & compliance — strong understanding of safety regulations, risk assessments, permits to work, and safe systems of work.
· Cross‑functional collaboration — works effectively with production, engineering, quality, and management teams to support operational goals.
· Several years in a maintenance engineering role within manufacturing, industrial, or production environments.
· Proven track record of working in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments where rapid problem‑solving is essential.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
· Ability to stay calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
· Organised, disciplined, and able to manage multiple priorities.
