Our Home in Hasland is a purpose-built home providing care for up to 40 residents. Hasland is a lovely old market town, situated close to the centre of Chesterfield, just a few miles from the Peak District National Park.
Our staff here at Hasland strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents. We also have a CQC rating of 'Good'.
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Assistant to join our hard working, fast paced team. The successful candidate must hold relevant qualifications/experience, be flexible and able to work Bank Holidays and Christmas when required.
Your main base will be working from our home in Hasland, but you may be required to work at one of our homes in Dronfield.

Maintenance Assistant - Contractual

JOB PURPOSE
Here at The Green we are looking for a reliable maintenance assistant to assist in the upkeep and maintenance of our Home to an acceptable standard in order to promote a pleasant and safe environment for Residents, Staff and Visitors.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
To carry out all compliance testing within the homes, including
Fire, legionella, water temperature, bed rails, electrical visuals etc
● Testing the fire alarm system and log results weekly.
● Check call points, fire exits, door-retaining devices and fire emergency lights, as specified in Company procedures.
● Undertake fire door checks by applying the ‘card check’ and brushes to ensure compliant.
● Carry out legionella temperature checks, weekly flushing of little used outlets, descale and sanitise shower heads.
● Replace any defective light bulbs/diffusers.
● Assist in the general oversight of the heating, lighting and use of water at the Homes.
● Maintaining the ‘Maintenance Book’ in which defects are recorded by Staff members. Use this book to effect repairs/replacements daily.
● Assist with deliveries to the Homes. Monitoring delivered goods closely.
● Any other duties as allocated by Mark – Maintenance, to ensure the efficient running of the Homes.
● Assisting in the general repair and maintenance of the Homes both externally and internally to promote effective operation and service as directed by Mark – Maintenance, including ground maintenance
● Reporting on the day any known defects to appliances, damaged furniture/equipment and any other potential hazards to Mark – Maintenance, who will advise accordingly
EXTRA DUTIES
● To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level responsibility of this job.
