A small, home-based childcare setting providing high-quality care for children aged 0–4 years are looking for another childminding assistant to join their team. At full capacity, they care for 12–14 children with a team of 4 staff.
The setting was created with a clear vision: to provide a more nurturing, attentive alternative to larger nurseries. They pride themselves on building strong emotional bonds with the children and maintaining a warm, family-like environment.
The team is close-knit, supportive, and positive.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- Shifts: 08:00–17:00 or 09:00–18:00
- 1-hour lunch break
- 40 hours per week
They are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and proactive Childminding Assistant to join the team.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with young children and wants to contribute to their emotional, physical, and educational development in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that support their development
- Plan and assist with play-based learning and early education activities
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
- Support children with routines including dressing, toileting, naps, and transitions
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised environment
- Follow safeguarding and safety procedures at all times
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding children’s progress and well-being
- Encourage positive behaviour, good manners, and social development
- Take initiative with daily tasks such as setting up activities or attending to children’s needs

Requirements
- Experience working with children (nursery, childminding, or similar) is preferred
- Even better if you hold an Early Years qualification
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Organised and able to multitask in a dynamic environment

- Reliable, responsible, and proactive
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Driving licence is desirable but not essential
- Childcare qualifications are advantageous but not required
