Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Pot Washer to join our busy culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth operation during service hours. The ideal candidate will be reliable, efficient, and eager to support our kitchen staff in delivering high-quality dining experiences. Previous hospitality or kitchen experience is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Wash and sanitise pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment to the highest standards of hygiene.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the chef or kitchen supervisor, if required..
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to ensure a safe and organised kitchen environment.
- Support the team in organising stock and ensuring all items are stored correctly.
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
- Help with general cleaning duties within the kitchen and back-of-house areas to uphold health and safety standards.
- Assist with serving food during busy periods if required, providing support to front-of-house staff.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, or culinary practices is advantageous.
- Familiarity with kitchen safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak times.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
