You may already have experience supporting people with mental health needs if not, well provide full training. What matters most is your willingness to learn, your empathy, and your ability to communicate clearly and confidently.
Youll need:
- An understanding of mental health and its impact on daily life
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team
- Good IT skills, including Word, email and basic databases
- A calm, positive and professional attitude
An NVQ/QCF in Health & Social Care is beneficial, but not essential we will support you to work towards it.
Our Stafford service supports adults living with a range of mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression. Some individuals may present with selfharm behaviours, substance misuse or verbal aggression.
We also support people with forensic backgrounds who may be under Ministry of Justice (MOJ) conditions and working alongside Firs team professionals. Its a busy and dynamic environment with regular involvement from multidisciplinary teams, so confidence, resilience and effective communication are key.
