Blue Sky Enabling has an exciting job opportunity for an experienced Female Live in Carer in Trowbridge, who is looking for a permanent position, to work as part of a team with a lovely lady in her 50s. Ideally, we are looking for someone who lives within 1 hour commute of Trowbridge who can then work a split week shift pattern, working 2 days on/2 days off/3 days on/ 2 days off continuously. Alternatively, the package can support a rota pattern of 1 week on/1 week off continuously.
You will be supporting a lovely lady with learning disability, recent vision impairment and who is probably showing early signs of dementia, to be able to continue to live in her own home. Her day begins at around 8am and she normally goes to bed before 8pm. You will be working independently in a person-centred way, supporting her to meet her needs, ensuring her safety and wellbeing.
As part of her collaborative team, you will be supporting her to live a life based around her own choices, whilst providing her with clear guidance in accordance with her individual support plan, risk assessments and PBSP.
You will support her to access the community, attend appointments, do shopping, go out to cafés, have fun and participate in indoor and outdoor leisure activities. You will encourage and support her to maintain a healthy diet and will promote her health and wellbeing, whilst also supporting her to manage her household. You will enable her to live a full and active life, understanding issues around capacity and where it is safe for her to make her own individual decisions, always treating her with equality and dignity.
You will be supported by an experienced care management team who know this lady very well and will receive regular supervision and be supported to maintain training relevant to this role.
