Overview
We are seeking an experienced Waste Transfer Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of waste management processes and mechanical systems, with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently. This role involves operating waste transfer equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment. Responsibilities
- Operate waste transfer machinery and equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety guidelines
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and transportation of waste materials using appropriate tools and technique
- Maintain accurate records of waste transfer activities and report any issues or malfunctions promptly
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Support team members in daily operations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Waste Transfer Operative or in a similar role within waste management or related industries
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to operating waste transfer machinery and equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely on a regular basis
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to waste handling and machinery operation
- Physical fitness suitable for demanding manual tasks including prolonged periods of standing and lifting
- Valid UK driving licence is desirable but not essential; willingness to undergo relevant training if required
