Transactions Assistant – Purchase Ledger (9-Month Fixed Term Contract, Full-Time)
Location: Medway (Riverside Office)
We are seeking a detail-focused and highly organised Transactions Assistant to join our Finance Team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. Based in our modern office overlooking the River Medway, this is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering accurate and efficient purchase ledger services within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Reporting to the Transactions Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all financial transactions are processed in line with internal controls and agreed service levels. You will manage high volumes of invoices, ensuring accuracy when matching to purchase orders and resolving discrepancies by working closely with suppliers and internal teams.
Your role will include preparing payment runs, processing BACS payments, maintaining supplier accounts, and performing regular reconciliations. You will also handle supplier queries professionally, manage the purchase ledger inbox, and support month-end activities such as accruals and reporting. In addition, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance systems and processes across the finance function.
This position involves wider transactional duties, including processing rent payments, account adjustments, and new tenancy charges, as well as scanning and registering invoices. You will also deputise for the Transactions Purchasing Manager when required, demonstrating strong accountability and ownership in your work.
About You
You will bring experience in a purchase ledger or finance administration role, with excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills. You will be confident working with high-volume data and possess intermediate Excel skills.
