JOB TITLE: Work Placement and Careers Coordinator - EHCP / High Needs Learners
LOCATION: King's Lynn (with regular travel to other campuses)
HOURS: 37 hours per week, 37 weeks a year (term-time plus one week)
SALARY: £24,368 - £24,709 (inclusive of a non-contractual recruitment and retention allowance of £1,392).
Are you passionate about helping young people with significant needs achieve their full potential?
CWA are looking for two new Work Placement and Careers Coordinators to support our learners with an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or with other significant needs to find suitable work placement to help their progression into hopeful employment after college. You will work closely with our students, their parents / carers, teaching teams and local businesses to establish working partnerships to ensure our learners who are most in need can attend work placement and thrive. Additionally, you'll support learners with their next steps and progression, as well as providing information, advice and guidance throughout the year to help them succeed.
These roles are brand new but you'll be joining a successful and highly regarded Work Placement and Careers team who each support specific curriculum areas. It's an exciting time to start working with careers at CWA; we have an ethos of "careers, not courses", and the team will be under new line management from September, working more closely with the admissions, student services and business support teams.
We're looking for someone who is collaborative and a team player, as you'll be working with your colleagues to identify learners within the curriculum areas which they support who need further help to find a work placement, as well as supporting students in the inclusive learning faculty.
This role will be based at King's Lynn but you will be required to regularly visit our Wisbech, Cambridge and Sports campuses, as well our Downham Market centre to support students which attend those campuses.
At our recent student of the year awards, one of our high needs students supported by the team received the inclusive learning and overall student of the year awards based on what they brought to their work placement. Please watch a short video about the student by clicking here to see what a huge difference this role can make.
