Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair of our fleet of coaches, buses, and minibuses. This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills, together with the ability to organise workshop activities and lead a team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and reliability while supporting the day-to-day running of the workshop.
Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on coaches, buses, minibuses, and other fleet vehicles.
- Lead by example as a senior mechanic while supervising workshop staff.
- Plan and allocate daily workshop activities to ensure efficient fleet maintenance.
- Ensure all vehicles meet DVSA standards and Operator Licence requirements.
- Monitor vehicle defects and ensure repairs are completed promptly.
- Prepare vehicles for MOTs, inspections, and compliance audits.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and workshop documentation.
- Promote and maintain high standards of health and safety within the workshop.
- Work closely with operations teams to maximise vehicle availability and minimise downtime.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing PSV vehicles, coaches, buses, minibuses, or commercial vehicle fleets.
- Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, and repair skills.
- Previous supervisory experience or the ability and desire to progress into a workshop management role.
- Good understanding of DVSA regulations, maintenance planning, and vehicle compliance.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Pay: From £46,000.00 per year
