Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant small nursery. The nursery is a term time only setting open from 8:30-4 Monday to Thursday and Friday 8:30-12pm. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for working with children, demonstrating strong management and leadership skills to support a nurturing and stimulating environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of young children whilst working within a supportive and professional setting. Applicants should have relevant nursery experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation needs. Gan Kinneret nursery has been running for over 40 years and we are an OFSTED rated outstanding setting.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's development across all areas of learning
- Supervise children ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social skills
- Support colleagues in daily routines such as meal times, nap times, and outdoor play
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and developmental milestones
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns
- Lead by example in adhering to safeguarding policies and health & safety regulations
- Manage classroom resources efficiently and organise activities that stimulate learning and creativity
- Demonstrate leadership by mentoring less experienced staff and contributing to team meetings and planning sessions
Qualifications
- recognised childcare qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent)
- Proven nursery experience with a strong understanding of early childhood education principles
- Management experience or leadership qualities are highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team whilst demonstrating initiative
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Valid driving licence preferred for transportation duties or attending external activities
