About This SEN Teaching Assistant Role

What You'll Be Doing
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your role will include:

Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups

Helping children with SEN access lessons, activities, and routines

Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, sensory needs, and learning difficulties

Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and confidence

Helping children manage transitions and changes during the school day

Supporting communication, emotional wellbeing, and social interaction

Assisting teachers with adapted resources and classroom support

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and support staff
What We're Looking For
We are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant who:

Must have experience working with SEN children

Must have a Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one

Is patient, compassionate, and consistent

Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

Is confident supporting children with additional needs

Has strong communication and teamwork skills

Understands the importance of safeguarding and child welfare
