The post holder will be responsible for day-to-day upkeep of the cleanliness as set out in the cleaning schedule. These areas may include ward areas, clinical areas, and hospital corridors, also associated areas across the Braintree Community Hospital site. The post may require assisting with the patients meal and beverage service.The post is part of a team, working within an integrated Hotel Services department, offering a high quality, flexible and customer focused service.
- Work requests are dealt with promptly and efficiently and meet the needs of the wards/departments.
- Wards/Departments are maintained free of dust, dirt and moisture through the process of daily and periodic cleaning
- Transfer of infection is prevented by the additional process of effective termination cleaning of patient bed areas
- Wards/departments are maintained free from excessive refuse and kept tidy and presentable at all times
- Any other reasonable ad hoc duties as required for service provision
- Provide a catering service to the patients as and when required
- Promote positive feedback for other service users, by providing the highest standard of cleaning
- Communicate with other team members via verbal or written communication skills
- Promote a positive image of yourself and the service

- Ensure dutiesmidentified on the ward/department cleaning schedule are completed
- Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures and protocols
- Comply with C.O.S.H.H regulations
- Ensure compliance with all aspects of Health and Safetylegistlation and the correct use of personal protective equipment
- To use all cleaning equipment and products in accordance with the manufacturers instruction
- To be aware of patients dietary needs and to ensure all needs/requests are met
- To understand and use the National Colour Coding Scheme
- Report any defects, braekages or hazards to the Supervisor
- To replenish stock of cleaning materials as required
- Accurate completion of time sheets and cleaning schedules
- To complete all mandatory training and use skills learnt in the workplace
- You must be able to work alone or as part of a team and have a flexible approach to your work
