New supported living service opening – join us from the start.
We’re opening a brand-new supported living service in Filton and are looking for caring, reliable and experienced Support Workers to join our Akerman Care team in Filton.
This service builds on the high-quality care we already provide across our other services, and we’re looking for people who want to be part of continuing that excellence while helping shape something new from day one.
You’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs to move from hospital or secure settings into safe, stable homes in the community.
About 58 Northville
58 Northville is a newly renovated supported living service made up of 6 bedrooms for adults aged 18+.
The service supports people with varying levels of complexity, including mental health needs, learning disabilities, autism, communication differences and, in some cases, forensic histories.
Support is usually delivered on a core support basis of 2 staff members for 6 people with commissioned 1:1 hours delivered alongside this. A strong focus on stability, independence, positive routines and meaningful community involvement is important.
About the role
As a Support Worker, you’ll support individuals to settle into their new home and build safe, fulfilling lives. Your role will include:
- Providing consistent, person-centred support
- Using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches
- Supporting independence and daily living skills
- Encouraging community access, activities and social connections
- Following support plans, risk assessments and communication strategies
- Supporting with personal care, healthcare and daily tasks
- Keeping accurate records and reporting concerns
- Working closely with colleagues, managers and professionals
We have full-time, part-time and bank roles available.
Shifts include days, evenings, weekends and nights.
What we’re looking for
Essential experience:
- Supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and/or mental health needs
- Working with behaviours that challenge or complex needs
You’ll also be:
- Calm, patient and resilient
- Confident working in structured environments
- Able to follow PBS plans consistently
- Reliable, compassionate and a strong communicator
- Willing to learn and work as part of a supportive team
A Full UK Driving Licence is desirable but not essential.
