Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team. This role involves supporting the preparation and cooking of meals in a busy kitchen environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. Previous kitchen or culinary experience is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients
- Cook and prepare meals according to specified recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and cleaning surfaces
- Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to at all times
- Support the team during busy service periods by serving food and attending to customer needs
- Help with stock rotation and inventory checks to ensure freshness and minimise waste
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to maintain a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Friendly, reliable, and able to work well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including weekends if necessary
