My client is a hugely successful Group who are continuing to grow and have an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join their talented team.
They are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Project Manager to support the delivery of electrical and M&E projects across multiple retail clients and workstreams throughout the UK.
This role is primarily office-based with travel to sites as required for meetings, surveys, inspections, and project coordination. Occasional overnight stays will be required.
The successful candidate will have proven experience managing projects within live retail environments and the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously while working collaboratively with the wider operational, commercial, and design teams.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery
- Manage the full lifecycle delivery of electrical and M&E projects from initial survey and feasibility through to design coordination, procurement, installation, commissioning, handover, and project close-out.
- Develop and manage project programmes, timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate multiple concurrent retail projects across various workstreams.
- Ensure project scope, deliverables, and client expectations are clearly defined and effectively managed throughout delivery.
- Maintain project trackers, cost reports, and progress updates on a weekly basis.
Design & Technical Coordination
- Work closely with internal and external design teams during project development stages.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, and technical submissions to ensure compliance, buildability, and alignment with project objectives.
- Coordinate design changes, technical queries, and value engineering opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical support and direction to engineers, electricians, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- A practical understanding of mechanical services including HVAC, plumbing, ventilation, and BMS integration would be advantageous.
Commercial & Resource Management
- Assist in managing project budgets and commercial performance.
- Monitor labour, material, and subcontractor costs against project allowances.
- Identify risks, variations, and cost-saving opportunities and escalate where required.
- Support procurement activities and supplier coordination.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide regular progress updates, programme reviews, and reporting to clients and senior management.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across all project stakeholders.
- Ensure client expectations are consistently achieved within programme and budget constraints.
Quality, Compliance & Commissioning
- Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with industry standards, specifications, building regulations, and health & safety requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor installation quality, progress, and compliance.
- Coordinate commissioning activities and final handover documentation.
- Work closely with QA teams and provide bi-weekly updates on installation progress and quality performance.
- Ensure all project documentation, certification, and O&M information is completed and submitted on time.
Risk Management & Problem Solving
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
- Resolve technical, operational, and logistical issues efficiently to minimise programme impacts.
- Support continuous improvement across project delivery processes and digital systems integration.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager within the retail, fit-out, or commercial sectors.
- Strong understanding of full project lifecycle delivery from design through to completion and handover.
- Experience coordinating electrical installations within live retail environments.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good IT and digital competency, including experience with project management and reporting systems.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of project cost control.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
- CSCS Gold or Black Card
- 2394 / 2395 Inspection & Testing
- Formal Project Management qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience
Desirable
- SMSTS or equivalent health & safety qualification
- Experience working within turnkey M&E project delivery
- Understanding of mechanical building services and M&E coordination
- Experience working with in-house design and estimating teams
