Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
- Plan and develop menus that align with the establishment’s concept and customer preferences
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence
- Manage food production processes, including ordering supplies and managing inventory levels
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver exceptional customer service
- Monitor kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and safety procedures at all times
- Assist in developing new recipes and innovative culinary ideas to keep menus fresh and appealing
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
- Extensive food production and culinary expertise, including food preparation and cooking techniques
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively
- Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
- Leadership qualities with the ability to oversee multiple tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and front-of-house staff
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience in serving guests directly is advantageous but not essential
