Estimator
Location: Rainham, Essex
Areas Covered: East of England / London
We are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Estimator to join our established highway maintenance company, based in Rainham, Essex.
We currently deliver term maintenance contracts across the London Boroughs of Enfield, Newham and Redbridge, as well as a variety of project-based works. This role will involve pricing a broad range of works, including civil engineering, resurfacing, Section 278 works, and private works.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, take offs and tender documentation
- Assessing labour, plant, material and subcontractor requirements
- Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Pricing project-based highway and civil engineering works
- Supporting the commercial and operational teams during tender and pre construction stages
- Managing multiple enquiries and submissions within required timescales
Requirements
- Previous estimating experience within highways, civil engineering, surfacing, or a related sector
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
