Job Description:
You are detail oriented and passionate about engineering design. Working alongside Mechanical Engineers, Electronics Engineers, Instrumentation Technicians, and production teams, you will be involved in a diverse range of industries, including automotive, transport, power generation, defence, naval, and industrial machinery. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues and clients to define design specifications and deliver complete engineering solutions. You will be capable of managing projects from concept through to completion, including design development, 2D and 3D modelling, manufacturing drawings, installation, calibration, data acquisition, reporting, analysis, and production of technical documentation including standard operating procedures.
As our customer base is international, occasional travel may be required for onsite installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities. We are looking for someone who is motivated, technically capable, and practical in their approach to problem solving, with strong lateral thinking skills and an understanding of real world engineering challenges. You will have a strong drive to push projects and tasks forward, taking ownership of your work and ensuring deadlines and objectives are achieved. Excellent communication, teamwork, and professional presentation are essential, particularly when working directly with clients. Essential Skills & Experience.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or equivalent field.
- Excellent command of at least one CAD program (ideally Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, but not limited to).
- Strong understanding of tolerances and manufacturability of parts.
- Excellent understand of torque, loading, stress, fatigue, and strain.
- Excellent computer skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with the use of strain gauges and/or instrumentation.
- Strong understanding of noise, vibration, and/or resonance.
- Good understanding of sensors and transducers.
Pay: £24,500.00-£35,000.00 per year
