Bayith Rest Home Limited is a small family run care home situated in Lovedean, Waterlooville that accommodates a total of 15 residents with Dementia and Mental Health needs.
We have an exciting opportunity for a cook to join our passionate team.
We need a caring and compassionate, hardworking team player to help us provide the type of home environment you would want your own relatives to have.
Summary of the Role:
We are looking for a cook to lead our team working to ensure tasty homecooked food, there is the the opportunity for working additional days covering holidays and absences if required.
You will need to enjoy interacting and communicating with the elderly as there will be regular contact with our residents.
You will work to create inspiring mealtimes for residents at the home, catering to all preferences and dietary requirements. You will be responsible for creating tasty menus, ordering the weekly food shopping, ensuring choices are offered, residents food likes, intolerances and diet and fully met.
You be responsible for ensuring the kitchen is well maintained, and cleaning schedules are adhered too.
You will need to have up to date knowledge of food health and hygiene and it would be beneficial to have knowledge on fortified diets and soft diets, but we will train you on this.
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred however this can be done in house
You must understand the importance of nutritious, varied and well-balanced meals, for our residents’ physical and mental well-being.
You will be honest, reliable, kind with good communication and time management skills able to work under pressure.
You will assist in ensuring a quality food service is provided by managing kitchen stocks and maintaining a clean and safe work environment to comply with Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations.
Regular cleaning of the oven, fridges will be required.
Acceptance of position is subject to references, ISA and DBS check.
Working days are to be discussed, will include every other weekend.
