The White Horse is an award winning, family run, country pub. We are renowned for our Real Ales and our country kitchen, offering good home cooked food. We serve traditional pub food lunchtimes only, Monday to Friday 12pm to 2pm and Saturday & Sunday 12pm to 2:30pm.
We are looking for an experienced pub chef to join our friendly team. The position is part-time, working every Monday to Friday plus one weekend on, one weekend off. This provides a work pattern of 22.5hrs one week and 32.5hrs the next. The successful applicant must be flexible with their work at busy periods, especially over Bank Holiday weekends and for the occasional private functions that we host. We are a small pub kitchen and the applicant must also be prepared to operate all aspects of the kitchen, not just the preparation and service of meals.
You must have previously attained a minimum level of Sous Chef and be conversant with the latest Food Hygiene requirements along with the efficient organisation and management of the entire kitchen. You must be able to work with our small team as well as on your own initiative. To which end you must be able to create your own dishes from scratch, whether from your own recipes or from those provided. From this a daily, ever changing, hot menu is curated of up to eight dishes. No two days are the same! This is served alongside sandwiches, ploughmans, cold dishes and home made desserts.
