Inspire, Support and Make an Impact Through Football
Leicester City in the Community is offering an exciting opportunity to become a Football Welcomes Volunteer, supporting the delivery of inclusive football sessions for young people (16+) and adults.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about football, community, and creating positive experiences for others. You will play a vital role in helping participants feel welcome, valued, and supported, particularly those who may be new to the UK or seeking a sense of belonging through sport.
The Role
Working alongside experienced coaches, you will support the delivery of engaging and inclusive football sessions, as well as wider community events.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming participants and creating a positive first impression
- Supporting the organisation and delivery of football activities and small-sided games
- Assisting with equipment set-up and pack-down to ensure sessions run smoothly
- Supporting new participants with registration and integration into sessions
- Using your own experience to help improve the programme and participant experience
- Assisting at events, including Leicester City and Leicester City Women matchdays

- Empathetic and understanding, particularly towards those seeking safety and support
- Committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and high-quality environment
Desirable Experience
- Football coaching qualifications (or working towards)
- Experience working in community or charitable settings
- Ability to travel to a variety of session locations

You may be required to work outside of normal office hours, at evenings and weekends.
Location – LCitC is based at King Power Stadium, Leicester. The delivery of sessions with take place at partner schools/Local Community centres etc and some aspects of the role will require homeworking, therefore you will need the ability to travel across multiple sites across Leicester and Charnwood.
