Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sales Estimator specialising in Windows, Glass, and Glazing. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing accurate project estimates, liaising with clients, and supporting the sales team to secure new business opportunities. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate sales estimates for windows, glass, and glazing projects based on client specifications and site measurements.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, provide product information, and clarify project requirements.
- Utilise Microsoft Office programmes such as Excel and Word to compile quotations, cost analyses, and project documentation.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining high levels of organisation and time management.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop customised solutions that meet client expectations while adhering to budget constraints.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain pricing, availability, and delivery timelines for materials.
- Present proposals to clients confidently, highlighting features, benefits, and value propositions of products offered.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, product innovations, and software tools such as AWS and Azure that support estimating processes.
- Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and industry regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience in sales estimation or a related role within the windows, glass or glazing sector is preferred.
- Strong presentation skills coupled with excellent customer service abilities.
- Proficiency in communication skills—both written and verbal—in English is essential.
- Demonstrable competence in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and organisational tools such as Microsoft Word.
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms like AWS and Azure is advantageous for data management tasks.
- Good IT skills with an understanding of estimating software or specialised industry programmes is desirable.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
- Previous experience in the construction or manufacturing industries involving glazing products will be considered an asset.
