Location: Wallace Road Nursery School, Northampton
Hours: Part time 20hrs a week (Monday to Friday) 10.00am -2.00pm (11.15am-3.15pm + 1 hour for staff meeting on a Wednesday), term time only (38 weeks a year)
Salary point: Grade I starting point 22 - £20,925pa Pro rata (£16,159 Actual)

About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Early Years Practitioner to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is committed to delivering outstanding early education and who is ready to take a lead role in teaching and learning within our setting.
You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality provision for children aged 3-4 years, supporting colleagues, and driving excellence in practice in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior Early Years Practitioner, you will:
· Lead and support high-quality teaching and learning across the setting
· Plan and deliver engaging, child-centred learning experiences
· Coach and mentor team members to continually improve practice
· Monitor and support children’s progress through effective observation and assessment
· Act as a key person, building strong relationships with children and families
· Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children
· Support children’s development, wellbeing, and positive behaviour
· Contribute to continuous improvement and readiness for inspection
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone who:
✔ Holds a Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above)
✔ Has strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development
✔ Has experience of planning, observation, and assessment
✔ Demonstrates excellent teaching practice in early years
✔ Has experience supporting or mentoring colleagues (desirable)
✔ Is passionate, proactive, and committed to high standards
✔ Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
