Role Overview
We are looking for a talented and driven Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. This role is ideal for an experienced Chef de Partie ready to step up and support the leadership team in delivering consistently high standards in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Lead sections during service and ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and consistency
- Assist in stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health, and safety regulations
- Train, mentor, and motivate junior chefs
- Contribute to menu development, specials, and seasonal dishes
- Uphold the kitchen’s focus on quality produce and elevated pub cuisine
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role
- Strong understanding of modern cooking techniques and kitchen organisation
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy gastropub environment
- Passion for high-quality, flavour-driven food
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene preferred)
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
