Join our vibrant Warden Team and help us support Teesside University students living in our residential accommodation.
We are seeking to recruit a new Warden Team for the academic year 2026/27 which will include the appointment of 2 x Warden Team Leaders. The roles involve working closely with the Accommodation Office and Security Team supporting students residing in Teesside University Student Accommodation.
The Accommodation Team are looking for a talented and confident group of individuals with the energy, passion, skills, and experience to provide out of hours support on evenings and weekends to students living on campus at Cornell Quarter, Woodlands Halls, King Edwards Square, Parkside Halls and Parkside Villages. The roles are on a fixed term contract and run across the academic year, from September 2026 to June 2027. A rota arrangement will be in place and Wardens will be on-call from 7 pm until 6 am each evening. Additionally, the Warden Team complete daytime shifts on a weekend at Cornell Quarter on a rota arrangement.
The Warden network has a major impact in creating a positive student experience and plays a significant role in enhancing the students' living experience in Teesside University accommodation. The Warden network feeds into the work of supporting and enhancing all aspects of student life and maintaining consistently high levels of student satisfaction/achievement. As part of the Warden Team, all wardens contribute to the welfare and support of the student community.
The Warden Team builds and maintains strong relationships with the Accommodation Team, Security Team and residents living in student accommodation, providing a professional service at all times. As part of the role, you will be required to attend Open Days, Campus Visit Days and Offer Holder Days and collaborate and work as part of a team to welcome prospective students to the campus.
All Warden Team Leaders are required to live onsite in Teesside University accommodation and are allocated a residence within their area of work. The Warden Team Leader roles offer many benefits such as excellent Work Experience, Induction Training, Mental Health First Aid, First Aid and Health and Safety training.

The annual hours of work are a total of 970 hours over 41 weeks during the academic year 2026/27. This is paid in monthly payments based on an average of 123 hours per month.
Important Note for Tier 4 (General) students: As you are restricted to working 20 hours per week during term time under the terms of your visa you are not eligible to apply for a Warden position as the average weekly hours are 23.5.
It is a condition of this position that you live within a University Residence during the full period of this contract. You will be required to pay the appropriate weekly rent which will be invoiced for separately.
