About the Role
We are seeking a driven and articulate Business Development Adviser to join our employer engagement team. This role is centered on proactive telesales activity to generate high-quality employer appointments for our Apprenticeship Business Development team. You will be the first point of contact for prospective employers, introducing the value of Apprenticeships, identifying workforce development needs, and securing meetings for our specialist advisers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound calls to businesses across a range of sectors to promote Apprenticeship provision.
- Qualify employer needs, articulate relevant programme offerings, and position the benefits of engaging with our organisation.
- Book structured, high-quality appointments for senior advisers to conduct further consultation.
- Maintain an accurate pipeline of activity within the CRM system, ensuring all interactions and outcomes are recorded.
- Achieve weekly and monthly KPIs related to call volume, engagement, and meetings booked.
- Build and nurture relationships with employer contacts to support ongoing business development activity.
- Collaborate with marketing and delivery teams to ensure strong alignment across campaigns and employer needs.
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience in telesales, appointment setting, inside sales, or a similar outbound sales environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage decision-makers confidently and professionally.
- Resilience, persistence, and the ability to thrive in a target-driven environment.
- Comfortable handling objections and tailoring the value proposition to employer requirements.
- Experience within Apprenticeships, training, or education (desired but not essential).
- Competence using CRM systems and managing structured sales pipelines.
