We’re hiring an experienced Estimator to take ownership of cost estimates, feasibility budgets and financial reports for all land appraisals.

About the Estimator Role
- Prepare financial feasibility budgets and development appraisals to support the residential land acquisition and land appraisal process.
- Assist the Land Team by providing accurate, timely and commercially robust cost information during site appraisals and feasibility assessments.
- Develop detailed construction cost budgets for use in ongoing cost planning, value engineering, and cost/value monitoring throughout project delivery.
- Carry out quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to produce accurate cost estimates and construction budgets.
- Provide input on technical design and pre-construction stages to support economical design solutions, buildability, and efficient construction methods.
- Support the Sales Team with cost advice and assist Quantity Surveyors with cost estimates for variations and commercial reporting.
- Prepare and issue cost/value reconciliations, forecasting reports, and updated budgets in line with agreed financial parameters.
- Maintain awareness of and apply relevant industry standards, including Building Regulations, HSE requirements, NHBC standards, and warranty provider guidelines.
- Keep up to date with current market rates for materials, labour, and subcontract packages to ensure accurate and competitive cost estimating.
- Work closely with internal teams to support residential housebuilding projects from feasibility stage through to delivery, ensuring strong cost control and financial accuracy.
About you
- Proven experience as an Estimator, ideally with a residential house builder
- Confident in reviewing, understanding and taking off quantities from drawings
- Skilled at preparing budgets and providing sound advice regarding costs
- Good all round construction knowledge
- Proactive approach to keeping up to date with market rates for trades and materials.
- Proficient in the use of Excel and digital measuring software (ideally Bluebeam).
- Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a key team member.
