We are looking for a skilled and motivated Field Services Engineer to strengthen our Operations & Maintenance team. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining and optimizing photovoltaic power plants, ensuring high performance, technical reliability, and customer satisfaction across our portfolio in the UK.

Your mission
- Ensure that photovoltaic power plants consistently meet the agreed service and operational performance targets in line with defined SLAs
- Review service reports and related documentation in a timely manner and share them with relevant stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to maintenance schedules in coordination with the Team Leader Field Services and subcontractors
- Monitor critical accounts and ensure prompt and effective resolution of technical issues
- Coordinate daily operational activities and oversee the resolution of outstanding site-related issues
- Work closely with subcontractors and internal teams to resolve escalated customer issues
- Perform electrical testing (e.g. insulation resistance, continuity, IR testing) and complete associated certification documentation
- Carry out replacement of inverters, isolators, panels, and other faulty components as required
- Maintain accurate records using field service applications or CRM systems, including reports, photos, and test results
- Liaise with O&M coordinators to report issues, request spare parts, and schedule follow-up activities
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health & safety regulations, risk assessments, and industry standards
- Deliver a high level of customer service while working across residential, commercial, and industrial sites
- Support upgrades, retrofits, and implementation of monitoring and smart systems
- Assist with root cause analysis to identify and resolve plant performance issues
- Ensure all required documentation (LV/HV RAMS, LOTO procedures) is in place, verified, and shared with relevant stakeholders
- Support the resolution of escalated customer concerns, including technical and commercial queries
- Provide support to control and monitoring room operations where required
- Prepare quotations for additional technical services
- Select, coordinate, and monitor subcontractors, acting as a key interface between subcontractors, clients, and third parties
- Support EPC handover processes and ensure smooth transition into operations
- Ensure compliance with UK standards, regulations, and legislation
- Monitor, report, and contribute to the continuous improvement of KPIs
- Maintain flexibility and willingness to travel to project sites as required
Your profile
- Completed technical education or relevant field experience in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy disciplines
- Relevant certifications such as 18th Edition, ECS/CSCS card, First Aid, IPAF, or SSSTS are advantageous
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), installation specifications, and test reports
- Experience working with plant controllers (PPC), SCADA systems, reactive power systems, or hybrid PV/BESS systems is a plus
- Basic understanding of IT systems, networks, and data communication
- Knowledge of CCTV and security system architecture is advantageous
- Strong hands-on technical skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Strong communication skills and customer-oriented approach
- Clean UK driving license required
- AP / SAP qualifications and experience with various inverter and transformer manufacturers are considered a strong advantage
Pay: Up to £50,000.00 per year
