Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Banquet Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes for large-scale events, ensuring all food safety standards are met. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with banquet menus and specifications
- Assist in the planning and organisation of food production for large events and functions
- Supervise junior kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, complying with food safety regulations
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Collaborate with event coordinators and service staff to ensure timely delivery of meals
- Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation, making adjustments as necessary
- Train new team members on food preparation techniques and safety procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, and kitchen management within a hospitality or restaurant setting
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Leadership qualities to oversee kitchen operations during busy periods
- Competence in food preparation, presentation, and culinary techniques
- Experience in hospitality environments, including serving at events or banquets
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and event staff
