Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Pizza Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional pizza dishes. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a deep understanding of food safety standards. This role involves overseeing all aspects of pizza preparation, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained. Duties
- Lead and supervise the pizza kitchen team, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency and quality in all pizza offerings
- Manage food preparation activities, including dough making, topping assembly, and baking techniques
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen areas
- Develop and refine pizza recipes to meet customer preferences and seasonal trends
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on culinary techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in compliance with health regulations
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment, ideally specialising in pizza or similar cuisine
- Extensive food production knowledge with a focus on pizza preparation and presentation
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster collaboration
- Excellent food safety awareness and adherence to hygiene standards
- Skilled in food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary innovation
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience demonstrating leadership capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
- Knowledge of current culinary trends within the pizza industry is desirable
