Overview
We are seeking a motivated and talented Graduate Hair Stylist to join our growing team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about the hair industry to develop their skills and build a career. The role involves providing exceptional hair styling services while gaining valuable experience. The successful candidate will be supported through ongoing training and mentorship, with the chance to specialise in areas such as hair cutting, styling and colouring and scalp specialisation using a premium luxury brand (Aveda, La Biosthetique, Bumble & Bumble). This position is ideal for recent graduates eager to start their journey within a professional salon environment.
Salary +Plus commission (retail/service commission)
Service commission % increase as you progress through salon. (15%- 40% service commission).
Duties
- Deliver professional hair styling services including cutting, colouring, and styling in accordance with client preferences and salon standards
- Assist with salon maintenance tasks such as maintaining cleanliness, organising supplies, and ensuring the salon environment is welcoming and hygienic
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with clients, understanding their needs, and offering personalised advice
- Manage front desk responsibilities including appointment scheduling, answering enquiries, and processing payments
- Mentor junior team members and support their development through coaching and sharing expertise
- Promote additional services such as specialised treatments and other services and retails to enhance client satisfaction and maximise sales opportunities
- Upsell products and services effectively while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanour
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding aftercare instructions and service recommendations
Qualifications
- Recent graduate or equivalent qualification in hairdressing.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect confidently with clients and team members
- Passionate about the hair industry with an eagerness to learn new techniques and expand skill sets
- Basic knowledge of salon procedures, customer service principles, and front desk operations is advantageous
- Ability to work well within a team environment whilst demonstrating professionalism and organisation skills
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training programmes to enhance technical abilities and industry knowledge
Pay: £10.85-£13.50 per hour
