Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Radiographer competent in CT, MRI, X-ray /Theatres X-ray to join our dynamic radiology team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services while maintaining patient safety and comfort. You will work across multiple modalities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in capturing diagnostic images to assist in clinical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including CT X-ray /Theatres X-ray, in accordance with clinical protocols and safety standards.
- Ensure patient care and safety, providing clear explanations of procedures and addressing patient concerns.
- Position patients correctly to obtain optimal diagnostic images while maintaining patient dignity and comfort.
- Evaluate the technical quality of images, ensuring they meet diagnostic requirements.
- Work collaboratively with radiologists, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely and accurate diagnostic results.
CT Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain CT equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic scans.
- Administer contrast media as required, following local protocols and safety guidelines.
- Monitor patients during procedures, recognizing and responding to adverse reactions or complications.
X-ray Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized X-ray imaging, including portable and theatre radiography.
- Ensure radiation protection guidelines are adhered to for both patients and staff.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of imaging procedures.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform daily quality control checks on imaging equipment and report any faults.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control policies, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Participate in continuing professional development and training to maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge.
- Support and mentor junior staff and students, fostering a culture of learning and development.
- Ensure compliance with IR(ME)R and local health and safety regulations.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Demonstrable experience in CT, MRI, X-ray /Theatres X-ray. Particularly being familiar with our CT REVOLUTION:ASCEND, the NEW user interface. It uses AI-based features such as Intelligent Protocoling and Auto Positioning in addition to automated features such as Smart Plan, Auto Prescription and automated post-processing tools on the console. These intelligent applications are a key component of what transforms the CT experience, enabling Revolution Ascend to accurately and automatically personalize scans for each patient while requiring significantly less effort from the technologist.
- Familiarity with our contrast injector used in department - Ulrich Inject CT Motion for multi contrast media use.
- Strong knowledge of radiation protection, imaging protocols, and safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Criteria
- Postgraduate qualifications or training in CT, MRI, X-ray /Theatres X-ray
- Experience in advanced imaging techniques or specialized areas (e.g., cardiac MRI, interventional CT).
- Competence in using PACS and RIS systems.
- Evidence of participation in research or quality improvement initiatives.
