Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and caring Female Support Worker to join an established care team supporting a 28-year-old woman with cerebral palsy and epilepsy in her family home in Ipswich (IP3).
This is a 24/7 care package delivered across a 7-day rota. While the service operates around the clock, shifts are structured into consistent patterns wherever possible to support predictability and work life balance. Flexibility is still required to meet service needs, including weekend working on a rota basis.
The role requires confidence and experience in supporting individuals who may present with behaviours that challenge, using a calm, proactive and person-centred approach.
This role is for 25 hours per week, with a commitment to 2 out of 4 weekends per month. Additional hours and overtime are often available.

Shift Patterns
Shifts are agreed in advance via a monthly rota. The service operates the following core shift patterns:
- 07:00 – 14:00
- 14:00 – 21:00
- 07:00 – 18:00
- 18:00 – 07:00 (sleeping night shift)
Wherever possible, staff will be allocated regular and consistent shift patterns. However, some rotation across shifts is required to ensure safe 24-hour coverage.
Pay Rates
- £16.47 per hour – Monday to Friday, 07:00–19:00
- £17.57 per hour – Saturday & Sunday, 07:00–19:00
- £16.97 per hour – Monday to Friday, 19:00–22:00
- £18.07 per hour – Saturday & Sunday, 19:00–22:00
- £12.21 per hour – Sleep-in shifts (22:00–07:00)
About the Role
The client is a wheelchair user who requires support with most daily activities but communicates clearly and is able to direct her care. She enjoys crafts and boccia and lives in her own fully adapted accommodation within the family home, with dedicated facilities for support staff.
At times, the client may present with behaviours that challenge. We are therefore seeking a calm, confident and experienced support worker who can respond appropriately and follow positive behaviour support strategies.
Support Duties Include
- Personal care (showering and toileting)
- Supporting daily routines and activities
- Community access (some shifts are 2:1 support)
- Providing safe, person-centred care
Full bespoke training will be provided.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in care or education
- Experience supporting individuals who may present with behaviours that challenge
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work flexibly across a 7-day rota
- Willingness to work 2 out of 4 weekends per month
- Confident communicator and team player
- Non-smoker due to client sensitivity
- Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
