Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and supporting their early development. The role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children, and supporting the nursery’s educational programmes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising and engaging with children during play, learning, and mealtime activities
- Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate educational activities
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times, adhering to nursery policies and procedures
- Help maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating environment for children
- Support with behavioural management and encourage positive social interactions
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to foster a collaborative environment
- Assist with administrative tasks such as recording observations or updating activity logs
- Occasionally support with nursery outings or trips, including driving when necessary
Skills
- Experience in childcare or nursery settings is highly desirable
- Strong management and organisational skills to support daily routines
- Leadership qualities to guide children positively and work collaboratively within a team
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience and empathy
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles is advantageous
- Valid driving licence is preferred for supporting nursery outings or errands
- Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing needs

Pay: £24,420.00-£36,704.54 per year
