As a Business Development Executive (Internal), you will be responsible for generating and qualifying new business opportunities within the construction sector. Your primary objective is to identify early-stage construction projects, engage key stakeholders, and convert leads into qualified enquiries for the sales team.
This is a proactive, research-led role focused on building a strong and sustainable pipeline by targeting the right opportunities at the right time.
Key Focus Areas / Responsibilities:
Lead Generation & Enquiry Conversion
- Proactively engage potential clients via phone, email, and digital channels.
- Introduce company products and services effectively.
- Qualify leads and convert them into high-quality enquiries suitable for quotation.
- Maintain a consistent flow of strong opportunities into the sales pipeline.
Project Research (Early-Stage Focus)
- Research planning applications, construction pipelines, and upcoming developments.
- Identify projects at early stages where specification opportunities are greatest.
- Track project timelines, milestones, and progress to ensure timely engagement.
Stakeholder Identification & Contact Sourcing
- Identify key decision-makers including architects, developers, contractors, and quantity surveyors.
- Build accurate and targeted contact lists aligned to each project.
- Develop a clear understanding of stakeholder influence and decision-making structures.
CRM Management & Data Accuracy
- Record all activity, communications, and project details in the CRM system.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of contacts, projects, and opportunities.
- Track lead progression from initial identification through to enquiry conversion.
Sales Pipeline Development
- Build and manage a structured pipeline of early-stage opportunities.
- Ensure consistent follow-up and progression of leads.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team to hand over fully qualified enquiries.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Monitor activity levels (calls, emails, leads generated).
- Track conversion rates from lead to enquiry.
Market Awareness
- Stay informed on construction industry trends, planning activity, and competitor landscape.
- Use insights to refine targeting strategies and improve outreach effectiveness.
Success Measures:
