Afternoon Tea Kitchen Assistant/ Cafe Assistant
Full-Time | Day Shifts | Kensington, London
We are a small independent tea room with a traditional English charm, specialising in loose leaf tea and afternoon tea.
As a small independent business, every member of our team plays an important role in creating the experience our customers know us for. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a close-knit team and shares our passion for quality, presentation and excellent service.
This is primarily a kitchen-based role, however all members of our team are cross-trained across the kitchen, barista and front-of-house roles. This creates a varied working day, ensures we can support one another during busy periods and gives everyone the opportunity to develop a broad range of hospitality skills.
About Us
We’re a boutique tea room with a strong focus on afternoon tea service and a curated selection of loose-leaf tea blends. Our goal has always been to bring more charm, creativity, and warmth to the London afternoon tea scene — and we’re just getting started.
If you love food, hospitality, and working in a collaborative environment, we’d love to hear from you.

What We’re Looking For
- Excellent teamwork and a calm, can-do attitude
- Strong attention to detail, especially with food presentation and garnishing
- Good time management and ability to stay organised in a fast-paced environment
- A willingness to learn barista skills and grow within the business
- Strong communication and a genuine interest in hospitality
Experience
Previous experience in food preparation, patisserie, or afternoon tea service is a plus — but not essential. We value attitude and passion above all. If you’re enthusiastic, dependable, and excited about a career in hospitality, we’re happy to train the right person.
