We are seeking Chefs to join our team and contribute to the success of our clients' catering operations in carehomes, schools, hotels etc
CHEF
Responsibilities and duties for the Chef role are:
- Prepare and serve meals to residents and staff according to pre-set menus
- Manage and train the team of kitchen assistants
- Order stock, ensuring availability of ingredients and receiving stock
- Manage food storage according to EH regulations
- Stock rotation and wastage control
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness and Infection control
Trainings
- Emergency First Aid at Work*
- Safeguarding Adults (Level 1)
- Fire Safety
- Moving & Handling*
- Basic Infection Control Food Safety for Food Handlers
- A minimum of a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Catering/Cookery is preferred
Pay:
- Salary: From £12.21 to £15.00 per hour depending on experience
CATERING ASSISTANT
Duties
- Support the catering team in setting up and clearing away
- Assist with food preparation and presentation
- Serve food and beverages to guests
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the catering area
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards
-Assist in food preparation e.g. peeling vegetables, prepping salad items, traying up and labelling items
· Assessment of good portion control, manage food waste and appropriate record keeping
· Decant chilled food
· Regeneration of food and garnishing
· Adhere strictly to standard recipes and production methods, check food and beverages served, for quantity, quality and appearance and maintain correct standards of hygiene and temperature control as per HACCP
Experience
The following skills and experience are desirable for this role:
- Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or a similar environment
- Knowledge of food safety practices
- Basic culinary skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Experience in a restaurant, hotel, or guest services role
-Taking pride in food preparation
· Presenting dishes to produce high-quality delicious food.
· Have a flexible approach and demonstrate enthusiasm in all tasks.
· Supporting with catering related tasks, including assisting with stock replenishment and storage of deliveries
Pay: £12.21-15.00 per hour
