Job Title: Accounts Assistant Location: Sheffield HQ Salary: £24,000 – £28,000 + Benefits Reports to: Financial Controller

We are currently looking for a proactive and experienced Accounts Assistant to join our Sheffield team. This is a pivotal role for us; you will be ensuring the financial health of the agency, allowing us to focus on what we do best.
Working closely with our Financial Controller in our Sheffield office, you will take ownership of the day-to-day transactional finance functions. We operate in a fast-paced SME environment, so we need someone who is adaptable, inquisitive, and takes pride in getting the details right.
Responsibilities
Sales Ledger & Credit Control: Raising invoices and managing credit control with a professional, relationship-focused approach. You will build rapport with clients to manage aged debt effectively.
Banking & Reconciliation: performing daily bank reconciliations and ensuring all financial data is current.
Payroll Support: Assisting with the monthly payroll process to ensure the team is looked after.
General Finance Admin: Handling queries, assisting with month-end procedures, and supporting the wider team during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage
- Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation
- Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, tax experience, and governmental accounting practices
- Ability to perform account analysis and support budgeting processes
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in bookkeeping
