Job Summary
As a Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents, assisting them with personal care and activities of daily living, including washing, dressing, mobility, nutrition, hydration, and continence care. You will also support household tasks such as laundry, meal support, and maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
Care Assistants are responsible for promoting residents' dignity, wellbeing, safety, and independence at all times, while providing companionship, emotional support, and meaningful engagement. All care must be delivered in a respectful, compassionate, and professional manner, consistent with best practice and regulatory requirements.
Working Schedule
We operate a two-week rolling rota.
Day shifts run from 07:30–13:30 and 13:30–19:30
- Provide person-centred care in line with each resident's care plan and risk assessments, ensuring dignity, choice, independence, and control are promoted at all times.
- Support residents with personal care such as dressing and undressing, bathing, grooming, and toileting.
- Make and change beds, tidy rooms, and undertake light cleaning duties to help maintain a comfortable living environment.
- Support residents with nutrition, hydration, mobility, and continence care.
- Facilitate and participate in meaningful activities, both in group settings and on a one-to-one basis.
- Encourage residents to engage in hobbies, interests, and social activities.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with residents, families, visitors, and colleagues.
- Respond promptly to emergency call bells and seek assistance from senior staff when required.
- Carry out observations and monitoring as directed and report any concerns regarding residents' health or wellbeing.
- Assist residents with the safe use of mobility aids and personal equipment.
- Accompany residents on outings or appointments when required.
- Carry out routine safety checks and report hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures to maintain a safe environment.
- Recognise and report safeguarding concerns in line with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential care records.
- Contribute to handovers and communicate relevant information to colleagues.
- Report accidents, incidents, and concerns using the correct procedures.
- Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Attend mandatory training and development activities.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and confidentiality requirements.
- Work collaboratively as part of the care team.
- Participate in supervision, appraisal, and training processes.
- Maintain professional boundaries and standards of conduct.
- Respect residents' individual life histories, preferences, beliefs, and cultural needs, promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
