The Role
As Accounts & Tax Manager, you'll take ownership of a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses across multiple sectors, whilst leading and developing a growing team of accountants.
You'll work closely with the Directors, helping to drive quality, efficiency and exceptional client service across the office.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a portfolio of limited company, partnership and sole trader clients.
Reviewing statutory accounts, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns.
Acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing proactive advice throughout the year.
Managing workflow, deadlines and team capacity.
Supporting, mentoring and developing junior team members.
Reviewing work and ensuring high technical standards are maintained.
Building long-term relationships with clients and identifying opportunities to add value.
Working closely with the Directors on practice development and continuous improvement.
Supporting the continued growth and success of the Bristol office.
About You
We're looking for someone who is technically strong, commercially aware and enjoys leading people.
Essential Requirements
ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent Chartered qualification).
Minimum 7 years' recent experience working within UK accountancy practice.
Previous management experience leading or supervising an accounts team.
Strong knowledge of UK accounts preparation and taxation.
Strong knowledge of FRS 102 + 105
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A proactive approach with a genuine desire to help clients succeed.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Working Pattern
This is a full-time position based in our Bristol office.
To ensure you get to know our team, clients and ways of working, the role will initially be office-based. Once you're fully established, we'll offer hybrid working as part of a flexible long-term arrangement.
