Yard Operative
Location: Norfolk Gravel, Sheringham
Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm
Salary: From £31,000 per annum (higher salary available depending on experience, qualifications, and plant tickets)
Norfolk Gravel is looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join our team at our Sheringham site.
This is a hands-on role working within a close-knit team, with the main focus being the operation of our bagging plant and loading customer and company vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating and assisting with the day-to-day running of the bagging plant.
- Loading lorries and other vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and tidy working environment.
- Assisting with general yard duties as required.
- Following all site health and safety procedures.
Requirements
- Forklift licence preferred, but not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a close-knit team.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Previous experience in a yard, quarry, aggregates, construction, or similar environment would be advantageous.
Training & Development
Following a successful probation period, candidates who do not already hold the relevant qualifications will be supported in working towards obtaining:
- Shovel ticket
- Dumper ticket
