Hours
- Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm
The role of HGV Class 2 Refuse Collections Driver:
- Carry out daily refuse and recycling collections across designated routes
- Safely operate HGV Class 2 vehicles and associated collection equipment
- Assist refuse loaders when required to ensure rounds are completed efficiently
- Use in-cab technology and mobile devices in accordance with operational procedures
- Complete all required paperwork and electronic records accurately and in real time
- Conduct daily pre-use and post-use vehicle inspections and report defects promptly
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of vehicles and equipment
- Follow safe manual handling and lifting procedures at all times
- Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with residents and the public
The ideal HGV Class 2 Refuse Collections Driver:
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
- No more than 6 penalty points, no major endorsements
- Willing to assist with loading duties as part of a team
- Reliable, hardworking and flexible
- Previous refuse collection or waste management experience is advantageous but not essential
