Major Healthcare are currently seeking experienced, compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistants to cover shifts in Care Homes throughout South Yorkshire.
You will play a vital role in supporting individuals with their daily needs, promoting dignity, independence, and comfort. The relationships you build and the care you provide can have a lasting impact on someone’s quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents
- Undertaking all aspects of personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
- Assisting with food and fluid intake
- Helping residents mobilise safely around the home
- Reporting any concerns to the shift leader (Senior Carer, Nurse etc)
- Providing companionship, physical and emotional support
- Engaging in communication and activities with residents
- Maintaining accurate documentation
We are looking for staff who have the following skills and experience:
- At least 6 months UK paid experience working with vulnerable adults in Care Homes, Hospitals or care in the community
- Practical experience of using hoists
- Ability to work 12 hour shifts
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to pay for a DBS)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality person-centred care
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous
