Junior Chef de Partie (Junior CDP)The Opportunity
Competitive Salary
We’re a proud, family-run hospitality group with two genuinely exciting venues, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Junior Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team across both sites.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie at the early stages of their career who is eager to learn, develop their skills, and grow within a supportive and ambitious business. You’ll work alongside experienced chefs who are passionate about great food, giving you the opportunity to gain experience across two very different kitchens while building a strong foundation for your culinary career.
Let’s be honest, hospitality is tough right now. But we’re growing. While others are slowing down, we’re opening new venues, investing in our people, and building something long-term with a management team that actually stays. Low turnover, experienced leadership, and a clear sense of direction across all our sites means you’ll be joining a business where people genuinely enjoy coming to work.
If you’re passionate about food, enjoy working with fresh ingredients, and want to be part of a team that will invest in your development, we’d love to hear from you.
Site One: The Waterfront
The Waterfront is our exciting new venue, a relaxed café-bistro by day with a vibrant tapas-style atmosphere in the evenings. Light, modern, seasonal, and full of potential, this is a brilliant place to learn and develop your skills in a creative kitchen environment.
What you’ll be cooking:
- Fresh brunch and café dishes made with seasonal ingredients
- Modern bistro-style plates with a focus on quality produce
- Creative sharing dishes and tapas-style evening menus
- Regularly changing menus inspired by the seasons
Site Two: The Nelson
The Nelson is a much-loved country-style pub at the heart of the local community. Think roaring fires, busy weekends, packed festive periods, and proper pub food done exceptionally well.
What you’ll be cooking:
- Traditional pub classics cooked fresh and properly
- Seasonal dishes using the best local ingredients
- Festive menus and busy Christmas services
- Comfort food with attention to detail and consistency
The Role
As a Junior Chef de Partie, you’ll support the senior kitchen team in delivering consistently high standards across both venues while continuing to develop your culinary knowledge and practical skills.
This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety, ideal for someone who enjoys learning, takes pride in their work, and wants to progress within a growing hospitality business.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the preparation and service of dishes across different kitchen sections
- Learning to manage your own section during service with support from senior chefs
- Ensuring food is prepared and presented to company standards
- Supporting the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and Senior CDPs with daily kitchen operations
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety
- Assisting with stock rotation, deliveries, and kitchen preparation
- Following recipes, specifications, and procedures consistently
- Working closely with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth service
- Taking an active role in learning new skills and techniques
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment
- A Commis Chef looking to step up, or an existing Junior CDP looking for a new challenge
- Passion for fresh food and hospitality
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure during busy services
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Reliable, hardworking, and team focused
- A genuine desire to build a long-term career in hospitality
