Salary: AST 1–12 (dependent on experience) plus potential additional responsibility allowance of £5,823

Our education recruitment team is currently working in partnership with a highly successful secondary school in Dunstable to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Maths for a permanent position starting in September 2026.

The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop confidence, resilience and a strong understanding of the subject. Experience teaching Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality Maths lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Setting high expectations for achievement and behaviour.
- Assessing, monitoring and tracking student progress effectively.
- Using assessment outcomes to inform future planning and intervention strategies.
- Contributing to curriculum development and departmental improvement initiatives.
- Supporting students through pastoral responsibilities as part of a year team.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to promote excellent outcomes for all learners.
Candidate Requirements
We are seeking a teacher who can demonstrate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Mathematics.
- Experience teaching Mathematics at KS3 and KS4.
- Knowledge of the KS5 curriculum would be advantageous.
- Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to inspire, motivate and challenge students of all abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A resilient, positive and proactive approach to teaching and learning.
- Commitment to inclusive education and student success.
A Mathematics degree or closely related qualification would be beneficial.
Additional Responsibility Opportunity
For suitably experienced candidates, there may be an opportunity to take on additional departmental or whole-school responsibilities, attracting an additional allowance of £5,823 per annum.
