The Approvals Project Manager will be a key member of the project core team, responsible for delivering
authorisation and approval of the vehicles in accordance with the relevant regulations and standards for
each stage of the project. The Approvals Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of technical
submissions to the Certification Bodies and Network Rail to ensure on time delivery, testing and entry
into service of the vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
1.0 Identification, coordination and monitoring of all homologation requirements to achieve timely
vehicle certification and authorisation.
2.0 Management of the Certification Bodies involved in the project, coordinating technical submissions
to demonstrate conformity to relevant standards, and monitoring all the related activities of the
project needed to obtain on time certification of the vehicle.
3.0 Coordination with Network Rail, and other affected parties, to ensure that compatibility is
demonstrated between the vehicles and the routes over which they are planned to operate, to
obtain the on-time issue of a Summary of Compatibility from Network Rail to proceed to the next
stage of operation.
4.0 Coordination with the Office of Rail and Road (ORR), Railway Safey & Standards Board (RSSB)
and Department for Transport (DfT) in matters relating to project authorisation and standards
compliance.
