Job Summary
We are seeking a versatile and experienced Multi Trade Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance, repair, and installation tasks across various trades. This role requires a proactive approach, strong technical skills, and the ability to supervise and lead team members when necessary. Responsibilities
- Conduct maintenance and repairs across multiple trades including electrical, mechanical, and welding tasks.
- Interpret schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to complete installations and troubleshooting.
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to monitor and control equipment functions.
- Perform welding tasks with precision to repair or modify structures and machinery.
- Maintain and service electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Oversee routine inspections and preventative maintenance programmes.
- Lead small teams or supervise projects, providing guidance and ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client needs promptly and professionally during on-site tasks.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in multiple trades such as electrical, mechanical, welding, or maintenance roles.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable welding skills with relevant certifications preferred.
- Electrical experience including installation, troubleshooting, and repair work.
- Mechanical knowledge for maintaining machinery and equipment.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in English; able to read technical documents effectively.
- Customer service experience is beneficial for client-facing aspects of the role.
- A proactive attitude with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
