Our engineering teams operate across a diverse and evolving landscape, including large-scale research platforms, in-house compute, cloud infrastructure and internal developer tooling.
As Security Advisory Manager, you will lead a team of security architects, supporting engineers make well-reasoned, proportionate security decisions without adding unnecessary friction.
This is not a policy-heavy role. It focuses on applying sound judgement to real systems, from greenfield builds to complex legacy environments.
You will set the standard for high-quality security advice, ensuring it’s technically credible, practical and aligned with both engineering realities and our risk appetite.
Key responsibilities of the role include:

Leading and developing a team of security architects and business partners

Setting the direction for Security Advisory and defining what “good” looks like

Supporting complex design reviews, threat modelling and risk assessments

Acting as a senior escalation point for challenging security decisions

Building strong relationships with engineering teams as a trusted partner

Influencing outcomes through clear reasoning, not authority

Continuously improving how security guidance is delivered at scale
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to stay close to the detail, shape how security decisions are made and build a team that engineers genuinely value working with.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

Strong background in security architecture or engineering

Experience advising across cloud, infrastructure and application environments

Proven ability to lead or mentor technical security professionals

Sound judgement balancing security risk with real-world constraints

Confidence working with highly technical stakeholders

Ability to communicate complex trade-offs clearly and practically

A curious, thoughtful approach to solving hard problems
