We are currently looking for an experienced Technical Onboarding Manager to join a growing business operating across the heating, renewables, electrical, and retrofit sectors.
This is a key operational role focused on onboarding, vetting, mobilising, and supporting subcontract engineers before deployment across domestic and social housing projects nationwide.
The successful candidate will work closely with operations, compliance, and recruitment teams to ensure engineers meet the required technical, compliance, and customer service standards prior to starting work.
The Role
- Carrying out technical vetting and assessments of subcontract engineers
- Conducting inductions and onboarding processes
- Reviewing compliance documents including Gas Safe, MCS, PAS, NICEIC, insurance, and Right to Work
- Managing onboarding records and ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date
- Supporting mobilisation and reducing engineer drop-outs before start dates
- Working closely with recruitment and operational teams to maintain labour pipelines
- Assessing professionalism, communication skills, and customer service standards
- Supporting onboarding process improvements and operational efficiency
- Ensuring engineers understand company procedures, H&S expectations, and quality standards before deployment
What We’re Looking For
- Experience within heating, renewables, electrical, retrofit, or energy efficiency sectors
- Strong technical understanding of gas, ASHP, Solar PV, electrical works, insulation, or ventilation
- Previous experience onboarding subcontractors or field-based engineers
- Good understanding of compliance and accreditation requirements
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Comfortable managing multiple onboarding processes simultaneously
- Confident dealing with engineers, operational teams, and recruitment partners
